Special Kindness In Packages, Inc.: The first nonprofit organization Chimpy Design Studios had the opportunity to work with is Special Kindness In Packages. This nonprofit is one of several organizations that send care packages to deployed US military members around the world, but this particular one was started in honor of Chimpy Design Studios owner/designer Skip Spoerke when he deployed to Iraq in 2004, and their website demonstrates the ability to obtain high ranking search engine results.

In 2006 Skip began working on the nonprofit's website and held offices as the Vice President, Executive Director, and President of Special Kindness In Packages, or SKIP for short over the next 3 years. Read the Entry Rules

The rules are simple.

  1. The applying nonprofit or small business must:
    • not have an existing website1
    • provide logo and/or other images for website2
    • secure web hosting before design process begins3
  2. On the first of each selection month one selected nonprofit or small business will be notified via email. The selected applicant will have 3 business days to respond or the offer will go to another applicant.
  3. The design process may take up to one month
  4. 10 page maximum for the free design

1 existing website means any website that was specially designed for promoting business services/products. Social networking sites are not existing websites.

2 any photos/images you specifically want displayed on your website must be provided before design process begins. If no images are provided, stock photography will be used as placeholders.

3 Chimpy Design Studios will need access to your web server while designing your website. View the resources page for a few of our website hosting recommendations.

I, your Chimpy Design Studios Website Designer, will work with you to create a great Website that attractively, accurately, and effectively represents your company or organization on the Internet. I will not overcharge you nor will I cut corners to get this done. Loyalty, integrity, honor, and respect are values of utmost importance to me and my actions will represent that.

My goal is to provide you with a search engine and user friendly website design that will keep your customers coming back and attract new customers to you. In doing so, I will use a combination of design elements that will prove attractive and useful to your custom design. I do this because your satisfaction is my greatest reward.

It is your job to provide me with the images and fundamental text for your website. I may use all of the text and images you provide or I may only use a small portion of them, but rest assured, I want your website to be successful and before going “live” you will have the final decision for each web page.

It is my job to do the very best I can to make sure you are happy with the final website design.

My 9-step schedule for designing your website is this:
  1. compile information from you
  2. help you secure good web hosting (if necessary)
  3. create preliminary content ideas and site map
  4. create basic page design (limited text and graphics)
  5. create basic website layout (limited text and graphics)
  6. finalize content
  7. finalize design
  8. upload your new website
  9. teach you how to access admin files (if necessary)

At each stage of the schedule I will send an e-mail to you providing an opportunity to review and approve the progress before I continue. The length of time to finish each stage will depend heavily on the complexity of your website and I will offer you my undivided attention throughout the entire duration of this schedule... because nothing is more important to me than your satisfaction.

Chimpy Design Studios strives to make it possible for any start-up to have an effective website and basic marketing publications such as business cards, posters, and fliers by keeping design and development fees lower than most competition's website design services.

In fulfilling its mission, Chimpy Design Studios aims to provide excellence in customer service. Excellence in customer service means that the Studio will treat all clients/customers with the utmost respect and courtesy, maintain a pleasant and helpful attitude throughout the project, and provide every client/customer with quality designs and assistance.

The following describes our take on excellent customer service:
  1. Chimpy Design Studios will treat every client/customer with equal respect and every request with equal importance.
  2. Courtesy and attention to the needs of the client/customer will be the key to all interactions. Chimpy Design Studios will try to be flexible in meeting the client/customer's needs.
  3. Chimpy Design Studios will use numerous resources to fulfill requests in a timely manner or present alternatives when requests cannot be met immediately.
  4. If anyone has a question about a Studio policy an explanation will be provided quickly and pleasantly.
  5. The ultimate goal of Chimpy Design Studios is to exceed the expectations for service while fulfilling the mission. Any comments are welcome regarding how well those expectations are being met.

Ethics:
All Chimpy Design Studios clients/customers deserve equal consideration and respect for their requests. We will seek to carry out the mission in a way that provides optimum service to all.

Chimpy Design Studios recognizes the confidentiality rights of every client/customer. As a result, we will not reveal the identity of individuals without prior agreement, and only then will first name and last initial be used on public documents. An exception to this policy will be for billing purposes, of course.

Chimpy Design Studios understands the importance of getting a good value for services and products. Therefore, we commonly refer our clients/customers to outside businesses for production of printed publications and website hosting. These referrals are only suggestions, not requirements for clients/customers.
